dc #182: ABUNDANCE

Sometimes, an abundance of too many things clouds the sight

for the details

and for the important 'things' of life

So, my abundance is the emptiness

and I can fill the emptiness with beauty, again!

BTW: the pic before the last is from the dc #77: MANDALA

Dear Veronica is our host, again.
Thank you for that, Dear! Her theme for this drawing challenge is 'abundance'.
I have had a completely different idea for this theme, but for a lack of time*
(fitting for the theme, right?) I have only taken these photos.

Please make sure to visit Veronica's place of abundance!

*there are an abundance of appointments, last week: birthday of a friend (and a farewell),
sweet gatherings, like of the reading club or a welcome back party for a friend and exhibits, like Sarah Moon 'Now And Then', last Friday (I will show you some pics of the opening, soon!). Christmas staff party and Christmas school parties (and some exams) of our three kids in the coming weeks will follow. Tomorrow, at Sunday, we'll have friends for kale in the Lionpalace, so I try to come to your abundance afterwards.

Zwillingsmond

Der Mond in aller Fülle

The moon with all the abundance, here in Gemini

{it's the new theme for our drawing challenge
 at Veronica's this weekend: neither moon nor Gemini (lol), it's abundance}

Schnee

Am Sonntag hat der erste Schnee Hamburg erreicht.
Ich war nur drinnen im warmen Löwenpalast, sah durch die Fenster und
genoss das beruhigende Weiß, gutes Essen und Familie

At Sunday the first snow has come to Hamburg.
I've only stayed inside of the warm Lionpalace, looked through the windows
and enjoyed the calming white, good food and family

PS: Thank you very much for your comments
on calm – I'll come to yours, too, soon.

dc #181: CALM

In case of darkness or chaos, feelings ran high

{doesn't matter if inside or outside}

brace yourself, turn you heart in direction of light and be:

The theme of this week's drawing challenge is 'calm'.
I've used here a first aid blanket for this theme:

it remind me on people that were wrapped in it last week
in Paris after the attack, survived, under shock, golden.

Here, I've taken the foil as background
for my appeal 'be calm', that I've built with soft pink ribbon.
Nothing is forever, but these one was too volatile
(and the kink fold too dominant).
So I simply have written 'calm' with a permanent pencil
on a small piece of the first aid blanket and have framed it with
a rusted picture frame (as a reminder, saved from the Castle).
For this I'd to be very calm, because the foil is slippy and
tears asunder at the edges fairly quickly.

{look, it works even as a reflector for photographing}

Later, I've wrapped myself in that first aid blanket:
it reflects the body warmth (self-reflection) and I have felt safety
and – like a big reflector of light by myself!

I am sure, we all have to calm down, now,
calm down and shine for love and peace.

For this weeks drawing challenge No 181
Veronica is our host - thank you, Darling! -
with this important theme.

Please visit her wonderful place for more calming.

Thank you for your visit here.

I will come to your places this weekend.

dc #180: DEER

At Friday the 13th I flew
along the Elbchaussee, the long avenue alongside the River Elbe,
to the old Deer Park. Because I live in a big city when I wanna see
some deers, I have to visit a compound. Well, this is a pretty one,
even on a November morning.

I found the herd of deer at the manger, together with
a family of peacocks. They were faraway and the grid was between
us, but with my telephoto lens that has been conquerable.

I followed an oak.

At that evening I started to try some
freehand drawings with a brush in black.

Suddenly, a big sound of detonation during
the friendly game FRA - GER in Paris freezes the blood in my veins
and the following horror let slip life like a deer on ice.

It seems like war has arrived in Europe.

I put my brush in black and draw on slippery paper
and add some fern to hide for a time

Liberté, égalité, fraternité!

You, my dearest niece Malina, already understand, of course,
you just turned 19 on that Friday. Do you remember that days
back in 2012 in Paris? We met there, you and your mom came
from Montreal and me from Hamburg, there in Paris,
the city of love and it ever will be

LOVE

– we do not allow something different.

This is the 180th of drawing challenge! We come together from all over the world and make art. Dear Tammie Lee from Montana is our host this weekend with her theme DEER. Please follow the track to other participants on her beautiful place.
