Today in the morning as I look out of the window,
it crosses my mind again, that there is another meeting of Venus and Moon today.

I take the camera with me and have a nice walk to the bus.

And from the train I take this picture of the Inner alster Lake.
 - In the afternoon on my way back I alight from the train...

As I reach the Castle at the Eisenbach the sun sets again...
only a few short days and she stays for longer!

2. Advent

At the Eisenbach the Amaryllis opens in the warmth of the Castle.
The Queen follows suit... she is delighted by goods like a crocheted snowflake by Sandra...

oder extra Fotos... or photos extra by Zuzana Mitosinkovie.

In varying personnel we meet up at the kitchen table and crack some nuts.
Have found two cookie boxes full of Christmas decoration again...

I wanna look at some more cacti at your places these days.
Dear Renilde will be our next host of dc with SHELTER!

Happy Monday!

dc Cactus

 copyright by Dieter Zimmermann

My husband's father (RIP) got a window sill with lots of cacti.
I don't like cacti because of their fending thorns... but their blossoms amaze me.

So for this week's drawing challenge I whitewash a used canvas... scratch with a needle the shape of a Christmas cactus blossom and dye it with a little bit of Carmine which turns pink with the wet white colour:

By the way...
in early days (1100) in the area of Mexico the colour Carmine was made from female scale insects living on a host plant... an Opuntia cactus. That knowledge was for a long time a well-guarded secret. Later (1535) conquerors brought it to Europe... together with plants and insects.
And we drank Campari, this red drink, didn't we...?
