dc #97: EGG

I have curtain an egg here...

coming from the inside of a hen... 

I have mixed yellow pigment into the yolk, added 

a little oil and into the egg white I put some gold pigment...

and paint with this egg tempera...

this hen!

For this week's drawing challenge our host is dear Norma with her theme egg 

Please have a look at her beautiful nest...  she has the enumeration of marvellous artists' eggs

My little twin chicken turns 12 today... so I will find your eggs a little bit later this weekend

and next week I will have a short brake from blogging... so, even now I wish you

Frühlingsanfang...

Die Sonne schmilzt den Schnee...

the sun melts the snow...

 und dann sieht es bald draußen so aus...

and later then it looks like that outside...

 schon sehr bald... es ist Frühlingsanfang!

real soon now... it is first day of spring!

dann ist mir eingefallen, dass ich meinen Begonienableger 

bei zunehmendem Mond im Zeichen Stier einpflanzen wollte... 

dann aber pronto!

then I got that idea, that I wanna plant my sprig of Begonia 

with waxing moon in sign of Taurus... hurry up!

habe dann noch die Leuchter kupferfarbend lackiert...

then have varnished the candle holders in copper as well...

  Götterspeise gemacht... made jelly...

und verarbeitete die Zitrone von der Amalfiküste...

and used the lemon from the Amalfi coast...

in cheesecake

In der Burg am Eisenbach wurden noch ganz viele Leckereien vernascht und viele Dinge erledigt... die Ferien sind nun vorbei und die Schule beginnt wieder...

In the Castle at the Eisenbach was eaten up much more dainties and done a few things ... vacation is over and school starts again....

dc #96: WILLOW

Sitting in the morning sun with an early cup of Earl Grey I ponder about willow...

tree... wood... element wood... Feng shui... blue... green... phases from transformation of Spring... easter

Willows are growing close to waters...

 I mistook some poplar for a willow... they are botanical sisters

The willow has got a sturdy main stem and easy, dancing branches with very different leaves... here lancet-shaped leaves will grow after the willow catkin has blossomed...
 dipping soft into the water...  moving with the wind

The flowing movement of the willow... 
similar to the birch... calms my breath, calms my mind

Even if a willow is drastic cutted it sprouds their branches again and again.

So... willow is a Bach flower... no. 38... salix vitellin
 A flower essence of conciliation and forgiveness

 

Even is willow a cure at headache and fever... 

an agent of willow bark is salicin and in the human body it has the same effect as acetylsalicylic acid... so its a naturally occurring pain reliever and a botanical precursor of Aspirin

On my walk along the Eisenbach... a creek... I see a nest and the limber branches of a willow...

I cut a few of them with a scissors for plants 

that I have taken with me.... knowing that the branches of willows are too fibrous to brake...

 the smell of childhood...

 At home I start to form a little basket...

put it on the heating during the night to fix the form... look how the colour 

at the bottom has changed because the mesh is dry now...

and with fresh willow catkin branches I decorate the brim...

ta-dah!... a willow basket.

The drawing of the willow I have made with brown ink and actually I have coloured it with clouds of green-yellow eyeshadow... but its too soft to photograph, sorry.

Wish you a contented weekend!

Hinterhof... Zauber

Ich halte Ausschau nach Weiden... und werde

von einer weißblühende Pflanze und einer Zaubernuss in einen Hinterhof gezogen

Dort steht ein Baum mit riesigen Netzen in dem der Schnee gefangen liegt

I keep an eye out for willows... and am

 drawn into a back yard by a white blooming plant and a witch hazel

There stands a tree with huge netting in that snow lays captured

Dann wird mir klar, dass das Netz wohl für das Laub des Baumes im letzten Herbst aufgespannt wurde... und dass die weißblühende Pflanze ein von der Wand gerissener Efeu ist... das Weiß von der Wand klebt an seinen Wurzelchen...

Than I realize that the netting probably has been stretched for the leaves in last Autumn... and the white blooming plant is an ivy snatched from the wall.. the white of the wall sticks on its rootlets...
