dc #93: LIGHTHOUSE

We pelts from City of Hamburg with a catamaran 130km to Cuxhafen at the North Sea
in the mouth of River Elbe. At the Wadden Sea my fellows and I hikes barefoot to the
Neuwerk Island ...

and it is wonderful!

but... it takes hours... and some tideways are full of water!

So I heave a sigh of relief as the lighthouse of the Island arises on the horizon...

This lighthouse is the eldest building from City of Hamburg... 130km distant... built in anno 1299 as a fortified tower against pirates... even it was a sanctuary at storm surge... and it workes as a lighthouse... protected as a historic monument.

The way back at the next day we takes the horse-drawn carriage.

I feel desire and melancholy... its nearly six years ago now... I've stored this fantastic feeling of mudflat on the soles of my feet, the fresh air and the vast! Thank you, dear Renilde for this theme of this week's dc... lighthouse.

The photos of the walk across the mudflats I took with my old analogue camera on film. That are the last pics of it because its broken... you can see it on the second pic...

I've painted this aquarell... 20x30cm...
with view til Neuwerk from the wadden sea at accruing water.

For more lighthouses please come to Renilde's beautiful place... because she is our beautiful lighthouse this weekend!

Lockerungsübungen

 Drinnen wird der Frühling geprobt...
und ein paar Teller an der Wand aufzuhängen, wird zur Übung für den Kreislauf...

Inside spring is in rehearsal...
and to hang some plates on the wall becomes an exercise for the bloodstream...

Thank you for your nice comments and wishes on my last post,
dear blog friends...feeling better now and I will come to your places soon!...

dc #92: POSTAGE STAMP(S)

Flu. The Queen of the Castle at the Eisenbach stays at home.
Outside its snowing.

'The Eisenbach is iceless... maybe I travel by Castle-steamer... we are all connected through water... From the Eisenbach to River Alster... the River Elbe downstream to the North Sea.... close to the coast of the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal... Africa (later Cape of Good Hope)... India.... Phew!... would be a long way... maybe airmail!'  she rethinks

"Eddi? Would you please take this letter to Helen in Australia?"
But Eddi the Crow from Gunther of the Castle next door flips her the bird...

- Oh, I've got stamps... then I will send it via Post Office! Postage stamps would be ennobled by postmark.

Host of this week's dc is dear Helen with POSTAGE STAMP(S)

Acryl and drawing ink on canvas, 20x30cm

As I turned from bed to sofa I was searching in my mind for a picture for the stamp...
the Queen with my face?... a rose?
No, wanna surprise you :)

A tulip... herald of spring... But... in Australia is Summer, nearly Autumn, no?
I've twitched on the TV... floppy... hoping for a hint... and see a footstep of a dinosaur in Australia... I was intrigued by it precisely because:

some has the shape of a tulip! so the circle is complete...

a sign for 'et'... Latin for 'and'... the connection.
The '1' for the unity and the value... without a currency

The 'Q' for Queen and Castle and Eisenbach... and if you turn your head the 'R' of rose.

For more stamps please visit Helen's wonderful place.

Who is our next host?

Wish you a happy, healthy day!

dc #91: DISCOVERY

"Golden butterflies?!"

The Merian pre-exists the Queen of the Castle at the Eisenbach. These makes her trip more than 300 years later... and with a view through her telescope she discovers...

... blossoms...

... feathers...

... that someone is watching her!

As she comes closer marvelling at this bird, she thought 'Like in Paradies!'

Thank you, dear Emily of trailpixietrespas for this week's dc theme DISCOVERY!

My week was full of it! Like through a special filter I looked to the world... in TV I've discovered a paradiesbird... never saw it in my life before! ... dicovered Lotte Reiniger in new issue of British Elle decoration and ... the word/meaning of 'resilient'...

I've grounded a canvas with greyish green and added golden butterflies with a stamp. With Chinese ink I've drawed the plum tree and sat a paradiesbird on it painted by egg tempera coloured with pigments.

All photos by me except the ship... its from the wides of worlds web.

My special references full of adoration goes here to
researcher and artist Maria Sybilla Merian and
with the view through a telescope to Galileo Galilei !

For more DISCOVERIES please take your telescope and take a look at
Emily's amazing place!

 Just discover that today it's
...  Sara's b-day:

Happy Birthday, darling pirate!

A lucky day to y'all!
